Four Holiday Spice Blends

Poultry Seasoning

Makes about 1/4 cup


Ingredients

· 2 Tbsp dried thyme

· 1 1/2 Tbsp dried sage

· 1 1/2 tsp marjoram OR 3/4 tsp oregano

· 1 tsp dried rosemary

· 1 tsp black (or white) pepper

· 1/2 tsp nutmeg


Directions

1. Combine ingredients in a spice grinder or mini food processor. Pulse about 30 seconds until the mixture is powdery.


2. Store in a small airtight jar or spice container.



Pumpkin Pie Spice

Makes about 1/3 cup


Ingredients

· 3 Tbsp cinnamon

· 1 T ground ginger

· 2 tsp nutmeg

· 1 1/2 tsp ground allspice OR 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, a pinch of cloves

· 1 1/2 tsp ground cloves


Directions

1. Combine ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.


2. Store in a small airtight jar or spice container.



Apple Pie Spice

Makes about 1/3 cup


Ingredients

· 4 Tbsp cinnamon

· 2 tsp nutmeg

· 1 1/2 tsp ground cardamom OR 3/4 tsp cinnamon & 3/4 tsp ginger

· 1 tsp ground allspice OR 3/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, a pinch of cloves

· 1/2 tsp ground ginger

· Pinch of ground cloves


Directions

1. Combine ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.


2. Store in a small airtight jar or spice container.



Gingerbread Spice

Makes about 1/2 cup


Ingredients

· 3 Tbsp ground ginger

· 2 Tbsp cinnamon

· 1 Tbsp ground allspice OR 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, a big pinch of cloves

· 1 tsp nutmeg

· 1 tsp ground cloves

· 1 tsp black pepper


Directions

1. Combine ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.


2. Store in a small airtight jar or spice container.
